My name is Jordan Manley. I photograph, video and write about all kinds of off-the-beaten-path events, people, places and more in New York City. For a living, I work as a liaison between luxury goods companies, mostly fashion, and distinguished individuals. I keep this blog to call attention to the people and events in this city that make it worthwhile to bare 6 months of too much cold and all the hours squished between a old man picking his teeth and an adolescent girl clipping her fingernails on the subway every year. I make a point of attending a huge variety of events. I love awesome polished performances and events, but I also love awful, campy, poorly lit cabaret shows in dingy bars in crime-riddled neighborhoods.

One of my favorite quotes is from Helena Rubinstein, “There are no ugly women, only lazy ones.” And so it is with New Yorkers — There are no bored New Yorkers, only lazy ones.
